Provence. Conceived in the XVIIth century by Archbishop Mazarin,
this neighbourhood was a truly luxury "housing estate" for
parliament members and the bourgeoisie of the period. It was
organised around two principal axes: Rue Cardinale and Rue du 4
Septembre. This apartment is located on Rue Frederic Mistral which
is a beautiful street, one block away from Rue du 4 Septembre
and from the lively Cours Mirabeau, the main street of Aix, full of
charm with many restaurants and cafes. Created in the
1650,s, Cours Mirabeau is today a tunnel of greenery, where the
great plane trees caress townhouses, punctuated with fountains. It
is a historic landmark and a great place for a stroll. The apartment
is walking distance from all the main attractions of the city,
restaurants, cafés shops and city markets.
